Rurouni Kenshin watch order
Every Rurouni Kenshin season, film and special in the order it was released: 5 entries (3 TV seasons, 1 film and 1 special or OVA), 1996 to 2024. The TV seasons add up to 141 episodes.
Updated , when release dates were last checked.
For the original anime, watch the 1996 TV series, then Trust & Betrayal (Tsuioku-hen), then Reflection (Seisou-hen). For the 2023 remake, watch its first season, then Kyoto Disturbance (Kyoto Douran). The remake starts the story over, so you can begin with either one.
Other orders
Trust & Betrayal is a prequel, so some fans watch it first; it plays best after the TV series. Requiem for the Ishin Shishi (1997) is a side story film you can skip. The New Kyoto Arc (Shin Kyoto-hen, 2011-12) is a two-part retelling of the original series' Kyoto arc. The live-action films aren't anime, so they aren't on this list.
